Top Series: Rozier, Mendoza and Nassar the best
Thursday’s feature class in the CSI3* Top Series was the 1.45m against the clock presented by Ghelamco, which was won by Thierry Rozier (FRA). Aboard the 12-year-old mare Venezia d'Ecaussinnes (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Lys de Darmen), Rozier beat Darragh Kenny (IRL) on C’Est Beau (Calido I x Grannus) by 0.20 seconds. After winning the 1.40m Grand Prix Qualifier presented by Godiva earlier in the day, Koen Vereecke (BEL) again made it to the podium for the hosts to finish third aboard Glasgow MB (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve).
Earlier in the morning, the Top Series kicked off with a victory for Jessica Mendoza (GBR) riding the 14-year-old gelding Wan Architect (Springtime x Unknown) in the 1.35m against the clock presented by Maris. The young British talent beat Patrick Mc Entee (AZE) and Alice Mury Marais Z (Air Jordan Z x Calvin Z) by a second, while Emil Hallundbæk finished third on Cargranda (Cartoon x Balou du Rouet ). The best home rider was Jérôme Guery, who ended fourth on Quickys (Diamant de Semilly x Phosph’Or X).
Nayel Nassar (EGY) won the 1.40m against the clock presented by Nespresso riding Dee Jee (Viento Uno W x Charlie Z). Crossing the finish line in 64.95 seconds, Nassar was as much as 2.5 seconds faster than runner-up Leonie Peeters (BEL) with Catho (Millar x Voltaire). Micky Morssinkhof (NED) and Happy Girl 42 (Nonstop x Landetto) finished in 71.78 seconds and took care of the third place.
