Super Cup: Harry Charles claims the victory in Friday’s Grand Prix qualifier
Harry Charles (GBR) signed the biggest victory in Friday's Super Cup, when going to the top in the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix qualifier counting for the world ranking.
Presented by SPORT VLAANDEREN, this jump-off class counted a total of 80 riders and 20 of them moved on to chase the clock after producing clears in the first round. In the jump-off, it was Charles that was the fastest with his time of 32.08 seconds aboard Victor (Vanoverbeek x Ouche de Muze). A little over a second behind Charles followed Lacy Gilbertson (USA) with Baloppi (breeding unknown), while third place went to Gilles Thomas (BEL) that was best of the home riders clocking the time of 34.77 on Konak (Nabab de Reve x Cash).
Lena Leonard (BEL) brought another win home for the hosts in the Super Cup 1.35m class presented by HEUSDENS SCHAFFER, when riding Gloria vh Kluizebos (Contact van de Heffinck x Fuego du Prelet) to the best time in phase two of the competition. Stopping the clock on 34.01 seconds, Leonard left Veronica Tracy (USA) and Zuidam (Guidam x Indoctro) as well as Yves Houtackers (NED) and Fant Od Fare (Presley Boy x Odermus) behind her on the podium.
Pedro Malucelli Egoroff (BRA) took the last Super Cup victory of the day, in the 1.30m class presented by CLIP MY HORSE. Riding Eleonalda G (Vigaro x Ramiro Z), the Brazilian rider clocked the wining time of 66.19 seconds in this speed class. Runner-up position went to Olivier Vanderhasselt (BEL) and C Nouvelle (Lord Z x Burggraaf), that stopped the clock at 68.63 to be best for Belgium. Isabella Russekoff (USA) finished third with Corneel (Cristallo 7 x Ekstein).
