Germany’s talented rider Laura Klaphake and her mount Silverstone G took the victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix of Knokke Hippique and drive home in a brand-new Porsche Macan. In a jump-off with eight competitors Laura Klaphake – riding for Schockemöhle – started off as first competitor and immediately settled for the fastes time. Jeroen Appelen and Aikodo Z came close, but lost the Porsche Macan on a difference of 0.50 seconds. But Jeroen Appelen can be satisfied with his performances in Knokke; he finished three times as runner-up. ‘Only I would have liked to win the Grand Prix’, Appelen smiles afterwards. Diego Perez Bilbao and Corrada finished third, while Katherine Straus riding All In and Wilm Vermeir riding Gentiane de la Pomme ended up fourth and fifth.

Winner Laura Klaphake considers this victory to be a career’s best so far. Being a student at the university, she just passed her exams. After studying for weeks, Knokke Hippique is Laura Klaphake’s first international show again. She did not expect to win the class, especially not since she had to go as first rider and seven combinations were still to come. Laura rides four horses for Schockemöhle and has still one year studying at the university to go; one year to think wether she wants to be a rider or choose another profession.
