France’s Jérôme Hurel beats three Belgian riders
France’s Jérôme Hurel and his Dutch bred Warrior settled for a time of 26.52 seconds in the second phase of the 1.45m competition this morning. The French rider won the Longines Ranking class by beating three Belgian riders in Knokke. Pieter Devos and Equipharma Dax van d’Abdijhoeve and reigning Belgian champion Karel Cox and Cayen vh Hobos both finished within 27 seconds, as did winner Jérôme Hurel. Only 0.13 seconds and 0.27 seconds divided Pieter Devos and Karel Cox from Jérôme Hurel. Belgium’s Gudrun Patteet, who has had a successful show so far in Knokke, finished fourth aboard Sea Coast Calypso vd Zuuthoeve. Stephex-rider Jonna Ekberg ended up fifth with Freestyler.
