While the other Olympic riders do their warm-up, Simon Delestre takes the victory
The victory in the first CSI3* 1.45m-competition of the last week of the Summer Circuit at Knokke Hippique was taken by France's Simon Delestre aboard Chesall Zimequest. Currently, Delestre's Chesall (by Casall) is ranked number one in the world on the WBFSH Showjumping Ranking and won the 1.45m-competition with a distance of almost two seconds to runner-up Thomas Ryan aboard Quite Zero (by Quite Capitol). Germany's Daniel Deusser settled for third position aboard Happiness vh Paradijs (by Obourg).
Belgium's Damien Haelterman and Helios de Laubry (by Indoctro) put down the best result for the home country, finishing ninth. France's Kevin Staut completed the top ten with Qurack de Falaise HDC. Belgium's Olympic riders of Rio de Janeiro Nicola Philippaerts and Jérôme Guéry, riding H&M Zilverstar T and Grand Cru vd Rozenberg respectively, took their time and got some penalties for exceeding the time allowed. Other Olympic pairs like Nick Skelton with Big Star and Pénélope Leprévost with Flora de Mariposa got some time penalties as well.
